Five years ago last night I was lying in a hospital bed trying really hard not to have a baby. Five years ago this morning, the neonatologist looked grim when she saw the sonogram pictures.
Five years ago, God started showing us that He still works miracles.
Thank you God for Lauren and for all the lessons you've taught us these past five years.

2008 -- Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC
2009 -- Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, waiting for a heart transplant
2010 -- Home (Vienna, VA)
Later tonight or tomorrow I'll post a picture of our big girl turning five. What a miracle!
If you haven't yet heard Lauren's story, you can watch the Defining Moments video I posted a few years ago. I am serious when I say to grab some kleenex before you watch.
Cristi, Happy Birthday to your dear Lauren!
ReplyDeleteI should have read your note to grab kleenex before I watched the video! Tears of JOY!
ReplyDeleteGOD IS SOOO GOOD!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Lauren!!!
Praising God for Lauren:) Happy Birthday
ReplyDeleteShe's such a beautiful girl. I hope she had a wonderful birthday.
ReplyDeleteI have similar first day pictures of my boys in NICU, and I can scarcely reconcile that they are the same kids. They amaze me every day.
God bless you and your sweet miracle baby.
I am amazed at how time has flown. It really doesn't seem so long ago that we were all praying for you. There have been a lot of tangles and turns since and I am so glad that it has all worked out. I hope Lauren knows how many people around the world prayed for her and still do, relishing in the miracle of her life.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
