Settling into Routines {Goal Planning Monday}

I know that in many parts of the country this week marks the beginning of a new school year. I'm seeing lots of excited kids and parents sharing happy pictures. Meanwhile, we're starting our sixth week of school. The newness and excitement is starting to wear off.

My goals this week are focused on strengthening my routines.

Last Week's Accomplishments:

1. I posted Beauty Captured every day.

2. I printed Lauren's school schedule. I hope to be finished tweaking it so that it can be laminated later this week.

3. I organized some of the photos in iPhoto. All of the events are more organized and accurately named.

4. I read Richard Paul Evans's The Walk and part of Miles to Go.

5. I went to bed at a reasonable time more often than not. I can't remember any super-late nights in the past two weeks, but I may have repressed those memories.

This Week's Goals:

1. Beauty Captured

2. Reading -- the rest of Miles to Go and then The Road to Grace. I'm afraid it's going to be a while before it's my turn to read the fourth book in the series; I'm number 17 on the waiting list at the library.

3. iPhoto -- flag the best photos from our summer vacation trip so that they can be made into Christmas gifts. (Bonus points if I take the time to delete duplicate shots.)

4. Continue to work on routines around the house -- group schoolwork at lunchtime, cleaning up the kitchen after lunch and before bed, routine chores, not waiting until the last minute to write blog reviews, etc.

5. Stick to a reasonable bedtime!

  1. I am glad that we are nearly done our first 6-8 week term (I hoped for 6 which would end this Friday, but we need at least one more week and maybe 2...which would work out well anyways at the inlaws are planning a visit at about that time). We'll get a week off soon enough!

I need to work on organizing my iPhoto app quite direly, but I never get around to it. I really want to print a few pictures, too. *sigh* We're working on routine and sleep here, too!

I hope you have a lovely week!

  2. Reading, that's on my list too.
Stick to a regular bedtime. That one is hard for me. I have been staying up way to late and can't seem to shift my schedule.
Work on routines... I have been working on my own and doing ok.. but my kids... my girls are great... my boys usually stay up way later than my hubby and I and so their day gets messed up as well. Teenagers!!! at least they are home and safe and good boys.
Have a great week. Get lots done!
