Today, for some reason, I'm just not as motivated as I normally am to type up another GPM post. I know I will regret it if I don't set new goals for my upcoming week because I don't seem to get as much done when I skip my weekly update and planning post. Since I have high hopes for this week, I better remind myself of my priorities and goals.
Progress on ongoing goals:
1. Exercise: I have my kickboxing clothes on from my class tonight, and I ran three days of the Couch 2 5K program last week. I moved up the weekend run to Saturday afternoon so that I would be running or kickboxing on three consecutive days. My legs were killing me after I ran last Tuesday afternoon.
2. Bible Reading: Our B90 leader declared today a catch-up day. I'm caught up, and I may try to get ahead a little bit. We're in the Psalms now and I find it difficult to concentrate on reading multiple Psalms at one sitting; they all sort of run together.
3. Scripture Memory: Last week I realized that two of the verses were actually consecutive so I'm counting that as my first "passage" that I've memorized this year. One of this week's verses is Joshua 1:8, and I've added Joshua 1:9 to it. I've never noticed how much those two verses complement each other; I've only really paid attention to the "Be strong and courageous" phrase in Joshua 1:9.
4. Read: I finished The Racketeer by John Grisham on Friday night. Unfortunately I didn't have another book in mind so I've been floating around aimlessly this week. I need to settle on a book to read soon.
5. Blog: My first review for this year can be posted as early as this Friday morning. I may wait until the weekend so that Brennan and I can finish another week's worth of lessons.
Accomplishments (aka last week's goals):
New goals:
1. Digital Photo Organization: This week I'll work on June and July pictures. I'm also going to find a thumb drive to use as an extra back-up for what I've already sorted.
2. Sewing: Go buy some red thread that matches. Sew. Some people would say that this pattern is easy enough to do in an afternoon. I'm going to set a goal to get it half done -- I can save the bottom ruffle for next week if I need to.
3. Find two new lunch ideas for me and the kiddos. If I don't vary our meals often enough, Lauren won't eat lunch and will spend the afternoon lobbying for snack food. I sure hope PInterest can help me figure out ideas that are tasty and allergy friendly and that don't take forever for me to fix.
I'm adding my list of goals and accomplishments to the others at Real Life Unscripted. We'd love for you to join us.

Accomplishments (aka last week's goals):
1. Digital Photo Organization: I slogged through the gazillion pictures from last April and May.
2. Two thank you notes will go out with the mail tomorrow morning.
3. Sewing: I cut out all of the pieces for Lauren's tunic top, and I've read through the directions enough that I think I know what I'm doing. I just need some red thread.

Different lunch ideas... I could use some of them too... though I don't really fix lunch for my kids because they are all old enough to fend for themselves... is that terrible??? They are 16-26 years old now.
ReplyDeleteI am working on Scripture memory this year too. For Bible Reading I am reading through Proverbs each month... so 12 times through Proverbs in 2013. I am all caught up as of today.
I have not been doing great on my reading either. I am a book behind in my Goodreads challenge I set for myself.
God bless and I hope you did well this week. Tomorrow is Monday again already!!! YIKES!! how fast the weeks do go!
