What We Did Last Saturday

I sat down to share some pictures from our camping trip last weekend and then realized that I had far too many beautiful photographs (and cute shots of our family) to put into one post. Therefore, I'll share our big adventures from last Saturday now and save the rest of the camping pictures for tomorrow.

If you want to read all the nitty-gritty details about the trip -- where we went, what we saw, what we thought of the accommodations, etc, you can find them all on my husband's Simple Family, Complex Life blog.

Early (very early) last Saturday morning, we crawled out of our sleeping bags and set off towards Grand Teton National Park with the hopes of getting there around sunrise.

Our first glimpse of the mountains:

Our after-breakfast photo shoot. We joked that it looks like we took the picture with a blue screen and photoshopped in the mountains afterwards.

After a short hike (to meet the Junior Ranger requirements):

One last picture before heading up the John D. Rockefeller Memorial Highway to Yellowstone National Park:

Old Faithful:

Beehive -- a nearby geyser that only erupts every 12-16 hours:

Picnic lunch in the parking lot:

Wildlife crossing:

More geyser activity:

More wildlife, this time a grizzly bear on the side of the road:

Brennan trying to get a good picture of the bear:

Sunset at Yellowstone:

What an amazing day exploring two national parks! We all agreed that we need to go back when we have more time to spend seeing the sights.
