Some of the Real Moments of 2013

This year I've posted about days full of sunshine, beautiful views of our mountains, and a few rainy days that were brightened by rainbows.

As I think back on 2013, though, I realize that I've often only shared half the story -- the pretty half.

Before I pull out my new planner for 2014, I'd like to come clean and share some of the real moments from 2013. The pictures that I didn't pin on Pinterest, share on Facebook, or even post on my blog (until now).

Real life is sunburned cheeks and messy faces:

Real means math homework that needs an engineering major to help:

Real days might also include video games:

Real pictures don't always turn out the way I hope:

Sometimes real days are more fun than good hair days (especially when the youngest child is in charge of fixing my hair):

And sometimes real hair days mean more curls than we know what to do with:

Real life in the desert means unfriendly critters stopping by unannounced (and uninvited):

Real gardening means savoring the bountiful harvest:

Real life means Nerf guns:

Sometimes real life means broken arms and hospital stays:

Real life means insulin pumps and glucose meters:

Real life on vacation means wading in just a bit too far:

Fortunately, real life also means propping up the camera to take family pictures:

I'm thankful that I have photographic proof of some of the Real Moments of 2013. I look forward to more everyday moments to treasure in 2014.

I'm adding this post to the collection on the Schoolhouse Review Crew blog. Click the cute button below to see what other homeschooling bloggers are remembering about 2013. (Link goes live Wednesday, January 8th.)
