Donate Life

Right now there are 1800 pediatric patients waiting for a transplant.

Three years ago Lauren was one of them.

After nearly seven months in the hospital, we received the word that a donor heart had been found for Lauren. I don't know the story of the child and the family involved, but my heart breaks for what they went through. I thank that family for deciding to donate their child's heart so that our child could live.

Thank you for family photos.

Thank you for candlelight services at Christmastime.

Thank you for vacations.

Thank you for dirty faces at camp.

Thank you for the chance to perform and to share God's story.

Thank you for all-by-for-me hairstyles and smiles with wrinkled noses.

Thank you for learning to read.

Thank you for field trips with friends.

Thank you for afternoons at the playground.

Thank you for monkey bars...

and doing flips.

Thank you for giving my daughter life.

If you've already decided to be an organ donor, thank you! If not, would you please consider it? You can find more information by going to donatelife.net or by clicking on the banner at the top of this post.

  5. My husband and I are both signed up to be donors. Although I'd never thought about before I guess we'd do the same with our son.

  7. What a beautiful post. We have a cousin who passed away at the age of only 3. His parents donated his organs so that others could live. So happy to hear the "other side" of these stories!

  8. Wow! I'm a new TOS Member and I just found your blog from the forum.

I have a son with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and we are waiting to see if he will go on the transplant list or if we are going to hold off a bit longer. It's just unthinkable to know another child will have to die for my baby to live. Thank you for this post.

  9. Hi. Beautiful story and beautiful family.

I wanted to say that my 4 month 5 day old son passed away 7 years ago on January 12, 2005. I donated his organs because I'm a firm believer that children should not die before their parents. My heartache over the years is quenched when I think of the little kids that are living their life now due to my son's untimely passing. I may have to live without, but I'm happy to know that someone else out there does not have to bare the burden that I do on a daily basis. I choose not to find the recipients at this time (maybe some day?) but I hope some day you get to meet the family that gave you back yours.

Here is to many more years of healthy and happy days.
