January's goals three months later

Perhaps my biggest news:

The final verses of Revelation. I officially finished reading through the entire Bible in 90 Days! What a wonderful experience.

In other news, I'm still running. I went a bit extra yesterday so that I could meet my goal of 31 miles in March. About halfway through the run, I officially crossed the 100 mile mark for the year! Only 265 more miles to go...

  1. That is so inspiring, Cristi...both goals! Congratulations. How much did you read each day in order to read the whole Bible in 90 days? I have never read it that fast, but I would like to.
I think I am going to give up my gym membership and set a walking goal. Running won't work for me. But I walk fast.

  2. The Bible in 90 Days Bible says it's about 12 pages per day; I just followed an online schedule that told me when to stop each day. I'm a fast reader, and I'd estimate that it took me about 45 minutes to an hour most days. I did nearly all of it while Lauren was in her therapy sessions. It's definitely different reading it that fast because I was looking at big themes, not details. In particular, I enjoyed still remembering all the Old Testament prophesies when we got to the New Testament.

  3. Congratulations on two huge accomplishments! I may have to try that 90 day challenge at some point. I especially like the fact that, as you mention, you remebered the Old Testament prophesies when you got to the New Testament. Very neat! And, hey, thanks so very much for joining The Blessings Pour Out giveaway and telling her I sent you. I really want to win, but good luck to you ;-)

  4. Uhm...I am WAY impressed that you read the entire Bible in 90n days. Especially since you homeschool your kiddos and they aren't away from the house for 7ish hours a day! I'm also way impressed that you have run 100 miles so far this year. I'm having such a rough time getting into the groove and keeping up my miles! Yay for you!

  5. I would love to start running but wonder how you measure your running distances. Do you use google maps, or drive the car along your route, or...?

    Congrats on achieving your goals.

    Best wishes

  6. Jen, I used to either drive along my route or use mapmyrun online. I'm not sure if that's only US based, though. For Christmas, my family gave me a sensor that goes in my shoe and hooks up to my iPod. It calculates my distance as I run.
