A New Theme Song

For the past few years, two different songs have emerged as family theme songs -- Blessed Be Your Name and You Never Let Go.

The other day on Facebook, a friend posted lyrics that spoke to me. I knew I recognized them, but I couldn't place it. It turns out that I had been singing along to that song on our new Zoe CD the night before when I drove to see Brennan in the ER.

"In every change, in every season,
You are still God,
I have a reason to worship."

You know, I think that fits our family right now.

I prefer the Zoe version, but I'm including a video of Hillsong performing Desert Song, so that you can hear it.

At two different, difficult times in my life "Blessed Be Your Name" and "You Never Let Go" have also been my theme songs. Thanks for giving me a new song!

  5. Hello from the TOS crew. I love all those songs too!

I love Matt Redman truly has a gift for writing songs that describe the trials of life and drawing us back to the Lord no matter what.

Have you heard his song "God of our yesterdays"?

And Desert Song was MY theme song for 2008. Very trying year for us and this song played in our home every day for 6 months of that year.

I have not heard the Zoe version. But love the one in your clip since it's the first one I heard. :) There's a wonderful story behind the song as well.

Jill, one of the ladies in the video had just lost her baby when first asked to sing this song. She says the Lord gave her this song to comfort her during that time.
